Building Peace: Central Asia Institute

Peace is something that cannot just happen overnight. Greg Mortenson is one of those special people that dedicates there whole life to help other people. That is the only way that peace will ever come. It will take many people like Greg Mortenson to make a difference in the world. I think what he is doing is a great thing. I agree with him in that to bring about peace, you must start with education. This allows for children to learn a variety of concepts at an early age and can grow up with these concepts of learning and other cultures throughout their lives. Especially for women. When a child is born, he or she cannot tell the difference between male and female or doesn't know about segregation towards women. As the child grows up, these notions are all that the child is being taught. That is a bad way to start growing up.

    I liked your whole paragraph, but especially the last three sentences. You made a very good point about children not being able to tell the difference between a male or a female. I guess it is all up to whoever raises and how they decide to do so.

    I agree with what Christian says about children growing up and them not knwing what segregation is and why it effects them. They think women are covered from head to toe(like muslim women) with alot of clothes because it normal but in reality it is a type of segregation.

    I also agree that one should start with education to obtain peace. One needs to be knowledgeable in order to understand others views and perspectives.

    i agree strongly in your point that peace takes time to build up solid just like the school in the video for example. Education being the same takes some time because you never finish learning

    You are so right, peace doesn't come in one day, we have to work for it. I also wrote on my blog that in this world we need more people like Greg Morisson. It is very interesting what you said about the children that were growing up and how they did not know about segregation, then with experiences that they pass they start to notice that difference.

    true bro, education at a young age allows us to defeat segregation and get rid if most problems we have nowadays within our society.
